We are happy to welcome new patients.

Karalta General Practice is a long established family practice based in Erina for over 20 years. We are committed to providing continuity of care for our patients.

We are made up of six experienced GPs including three female doctors. The doctors are ably assisted by our two registered nurses.

Appointments
Consultations are by appointment.
Please call our friendly reception team on 4365 2983 or book online.

We appreciate your time and our aim is to see you promptly. To assist us in keeping to time please advise us if you need to bring another family member to an appointment of if you feel a longer appointment is required when you have multiple problems or a complex issue to discuss. Women’s health checks, mental health appointments and EPC plans generally require a longer consult.

Telehealth appointments available.  Please note; As per Medicare requirements, you must have been seen face to face at the practice within the last 12 months to be eligible for a telehealth appointment.  Telehealth appointment times are approximate, and the Doctor will call you when they are ready to speak to you on the number you provide at the time of booking.

Walk in patients are triaged as appropriate. Non-urgent walk-in patients are accepted if there is an available appointment, or scheduled to the next available appointment based on Triage.

Fees
Standard consultations last up to 15 minutes. Standard consultation fee is $83.00. Payment is made at time of consultation.

Children under 12 years of age are bulk billed. A reduced fee schedule is available for Pensioners and Health Care Card holders.

Telephone Calls
Our Doctors will take telephone calls relating to you and your family’s health. If the matter is not urgent, they may need to return your call when practically possible. Please leave any details you can with the receptionist, including where and when you can be contacted. It is preferable to obtain results with a consultation. At times where it is appropriate to give results over the phone we will do our best to ensure confidentiality.
Email
Our email address can be used to send through simple and administrative communications to Doctors and staff. Please note this should not be used for urgent medical problems or to obtain health advice as it is not monitored continually throughout the day. Our email policy can be found HERE if you need to communicate in this way.

All emails received will be read an triaged by practice staff before being passed on to the addressee, and then stored in the patient record. While we make every effort to keep your information secure, electronic communication can be potentially compromised and accessed by persons outside our practice, so this is done at your own risk.

Home Visits
Home visits are available for our patients who are too ill or disabled to attend the practice.  They are usually scheduled between 1.00 – 2.00pm.  Please ring our receptionists as early as possible in the day to organise a time.  Emergencies will be attended to promptly.

Suburbs covered:  Erina, Green Point, East Gosford, Erina Heights, and Terrigal.  If you live beyond this area, please discuss your needs with the doctor.

After Hours
Our doctors provide after hours medical care at the “Bridges After Hours GP Clinic”.  This service has been established to provide patients with after hours care they receive from this practice.  If you require medical attention after hours, please call “The Bridges After Hours GP Clinic” on 4367 9699.  They are located at 169 The Entrance Road, Erina.

Women’s health services include:

Vaccinations
We provide the full range of childhood immunisations as recommended by NSW Department of Health. Our nurses are fully Authorised Nurse Immunisers who keep up to date with the immunisation schedule for all ages.

Travel vaccines are also available.
KGP is a registered Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.

Acupuncture
Dr David Chee is an experienced medical Acupuncturist and runs acupuncture clinics twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

A Medicare rebate is available

Skin Checks
We offer a skin clinic service on a weekly basis.  All Doctors provide this service on a rotating basis.  All skin checks and procedures performed at the initial check are bulk billed.
Scuba Diving Medicals
Dr Hiew is accreditated to provide recreational dive medicals.  The diving assessment considers any disorder which can cause an increased risk of sudden death, impaired consciousness, risk of disorientation, impaired mobility which may render a person unfit for scuba diving.
Senior Health Assessments
Annual Health Assessments are offered for all patients over 75 and provide the opportunity for your GP to undertake an in-depth assessment of your health. The assessment will cover medical, physical, psychological and social aspect of your health.
Chronic Disease Management
A comprehensive and individualised care plan can ensure that all aspects of chronic disease are managed to achieve optimal health.
Care plans provide the opportunity to set goals for your health and to improve communication between your treating practitioners.
Care plan patients are eligible for referral to allied health providers at a subsidised cost. Please check with your GP if you are eligible for this scheme.
Mental Health
All our GPs are experienced in mental health and are able to develop mental health care plans to help you manage your condition.
Mental health appointments can take longer and it is helpful if you can mention this at the time of booking.
